Animal anatomy is the study of the internal and external structure of animals, from the arrangement of organs to the tissues and cells that compose them. Comparative anatomy examines how body plans differ across groups such as fish, amphibians, reptiles like snakes and lizards, birds, and mammals. These comparisons reveal both shared features inherited from common ancestors and specialized adaptations suited to each animal's way of life.
